“Friendship. What are we? What are we on? A friend ship. I think I unlocked a weird memory, I’m sorry I brought you guys into it.” – Alex

The Death By Podcast Team is a group of music-obsessed individuals with a background in broadcast. Except for Jake, he’s just… Jake.
We came together in the fall of 2020 with an idea to combine our love of music and morbid fascination. Here we are, with multiple seasons under our belts covering the deaths of a wide array of musicians – from Aaliyah to Elvis. We hope you like our show, sorry for all the f-bombs.
Alex got a degree in criminal justice and has a career as program manager on Virginia radio stations BobFM and 96X, which makes the perfect brain baby, Death by Music Podcast. She’s the kind of person who will put Rammstein and Taylor Swift on the same playlist.
Alex’s favorite episode of the podcast so far is the Layne Staley episode. Layne Staley of Alice in Chains was internationally acclaimed as one of the leaders of the grunge movement of the 90’s, with a unique vocal style and incredible talent. However, he struggled with addiction and was lost far too soon, at the age of 34.

She’s not actually a librarian , but she does manage three bookstores and reads a lot. Don’t ask her about the Dewey Decimal System. Cassie is a former radio host and booking agent. She has a giant Death Cab for Cutie tattoo on her back that she had to hide from her mother. She has an unnatural (and kind of creepy) love for both Dave Grohl and Bo Burnham. If either of you read this, please contact the show for a free wife.

Jake is Jake. Maybe send your most creative guesses to us. We might read the best ones.
Jake was born in ____. He has a huge passion for____ that first began when he ______. He’s been in Virginia for ____ years, dividing his time between _____ and Grand Theft Auto 5. He and Alex met in prison.
Jake’s favorite episode so far is the Mozart episode. Mozart has a surprisingly interesting story, and is the first composer that the Death by Podcast Team covered on the show. Not only was he a child prodigy, he was a huge fan of scatological humor – aka shit talk – and had quite a way with the ladies.

These fuckers help us with various stuff and things. They are pretty cool we guess, so we are shouting them out here.
